Affiliate disclosure
How Reviewtal earns, what a referral fee cannot buy, and where the disclosure appears.
Reviewtal earns referral fees. Most of the outbound links on this site are tracked. If you press a code control or a “Get deal” button and then buy something at that retailer, the retailer credits reviewtal.com a commission on the sale. This is how the site is paid for, and it is stated at the top of every page rather than buried here.
Your price does not move
The fee is paid out of the retailer’s own margin, after the sale, by the affiliate network that sits between us. It is not a surcharge, it is not added at the checkout, and the price you see is the price anyone arriving at that retailer any other way would see. Using a link here costs you nothing and saves you nothing on its own — the saving, if there is one, is the retailer’s offer.
What a fee cannot buy
- Position. The high-score table ranks by the size of the published discount. The level pages list stores alphabetically. The store of the day is whichever store carries the most live offers that morning. No retailer can pay to move in any of those lists.
- Inclusion. A retailer that fails the screen on how we check codes is not carried, regardless of what it pays.
- Wording. Nobody outside this site writes or approves the copy on it. Where a retailer’s own terms are quoted they are marked as the retailer’s words.
- Silence. If a retailer’s code stops working and somebody reports it, the card comes off the board whether or not that retailer is a paying partner.
Where you will see this said
In four places, deliberately: a bar under the masthead on every page; a line directly above every list of offers; a note beside every single code control saying where it sends you; and this page, linked from the footer of the site. That arrangement follows the FTC’s clear-and-conspicuous standard, which the affiliate networks make binding on publishers through their own terms.
Which networks
Offers on this board currently arrive through affiliate networks including Awin. Where a retailer runs its programme through a different network, the same rules apply: the link is tracked, the fee is the retailer’s to pay, and it changes nothing you can see.
Links that earn nothing
Not every outbound link is a paid one. Links to a retailer’s own policy pages, to a regulator, to an industry code of conduct or to a news source carry no commission at all. Every link that does carry one is marked up rel="nofollow sponsored" in the page source, so it is machine-readable as well as stated in words.
